Back in the Forest

I left the Grand Canyon and headed back into the forest just outside Flagstaff, Arizona a few days ago. I moved to a different part of the forest today near Walnut Canyon National Monument which has trails to hike and cliff dwellings to explore. Last week I bought some great hiking boots that make hiking so much more comfortable for me when walking over rocks, up and down hills, etc. I have a friend joining me tomorrow. It is supposed to get down to the 20s tonight so I will probably be firing up my propane heater (with a window cracked for ventilation). I don’t run it while I’m sleeping but I stay really warm because I layer my clothes and I have tons of blankets and a sleeping bag. It is supposed to snow here Tuesday and Wednesday which I’m kind of looking forward to. I haven’t seen snow in close to 20 years when I was in New York in the winter time. I loaded up on food, water and other supplies when I was in town today so I don’t have to drive anywhere and I have cell service here so I can get on the internet to work, etc. All I need is the sun to power my solar panels to run everything in my van. I recently signed up for unlimited data with my cell service company so I have been watching some TV shows online at nighttime. I haven’t done that in awhile. I am defintely not roughing it. This is glam camping to me, although I’m sure some people wouldn’t think so. I am so glad to be back in the quiet and peaceful forest. It is my happy place 😊🌿IMG_6808IMG_6809
